INSTRUCTIONS
Week 9 (19/10/20)
For our third assignment, we have to conduct primary research to further support our research and hopefully fulfil our research questions and objectives. We need to complete at least 2 methods, however, we are allowed to do more. To complete my objectives I decided on the following 3 methods:
- Questionnaire
- Email Interview
- Visual Analysis
I was told that the research methods seem good and appropriate, however, try looking into conducting a focus group if possible. Try sticking to only a few games for my visual analysis and identify exactly who I want to contact for my email interview.
Week 10 (26/10/20)
This week I had completed my three methods, I now needed to consult with Dr Hayati to see if my methods were appropriate enough to be sent out for others. I was asked to read through my objectives and questions to see if the questions I had to my concept artists were relevant. The google form may not be the most suitable way of getting information and a focus group may be better.
Week 11 (02/11/20)
I had sent out a questionnaire, which I realised I had made a lot of mistakes in, thankfully it was not sent towards my proper target audience but friends and family instead. I was told to be more careful with my questions and to change the questions that were "Heavily Agree" or "Heavily Disagree" to Likert scales instead. Revaluate my visual analysis to see if there are any further improvements I can make.
Week 12 (09/11/20)
My questionnaire was sent out onto Reddit game forums based on the games I chose for my Visual Analysis. I got around 75 responses, but I was told to aim for at least 80. Most of the participants were White which could cause some issues in the results. Try to get older participants if possible.
